Mounting a Pacific Windpilot

Messagepar Stranizza » 15 Sep 2013, 18:55

I am in the process to install a Pacific Windpilot on an Ovni 345, I would like to know in which way you installed the flange on the stern, did you make a big hole in a way you can put the nuts on the four bolts, or you just screw the bolts in the aluminium ?

Thanks for your help

Hello Angelo,
I dont really know the 345, but assuming you dont have access inside the hull sugar scoop, you need to pre-drill the 4 holes for tapping them at the right dimensions, so you can screw the bolts into the scoop. Don't forget to add Mastinox/Duralac or equivalent and the plastic washers to avoid inox/aluminium direct contact. Should you have further questions on this windpilot mounting, dont hesitate to contact Peter in Hamburg (see his email on his windpilot website); he is quite helpful.
Bon vent à toutes et à tous !
